Metromedia Restaurant Group Unveils New 29 Degree Tavern Concept in Fort Worth
PLANO, Texas (February 6, 2007) – Metromedia Restaurant Group (MRG) unveiled its newest restaurant concept today, 29 Degree Tavern, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for March 9 and 10. The latest of MRG’s growing stable of well-known brands will feature gourmet comfort food made from scratch and the coldest beer in town in a setting that blends steakhouse refinement with a sports bar twist.
As part of the Metromedia Casual Dining division, which also includes national brands Bennigan’s and Steak and Ale, 29 Degree Tavern is the next step in the evolution of the company’s popular Plano Tavern and Southlake Tavern concepts. Its name represents the temperature preferred by true beer connoisseurs. As a result of a unique beer refrigeration system perfected by the original MRG Tavern concepts, beer on tap will be served at an ideal 29 degrees and its temperature will be constantly monitored by thermometers above the door and bar.
“This is a new direction for us designed for our customers who want the best food made from scratch in an atmosphere that carefully combines sophisticated dining with the relaxed atmosphere of a sports bar,” said Flynn Dekker, vice president of marketing for 29 Degree Tavern and Steak and Ale.
The Fort Worth prototype, featuring reproductions of vintage Fort Worth photographs from the late 1800s and early 1900s, will introduce interior and exterior design ideas that can be replicated as the 29 Degree concept expands in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and beyond.
Signature menu items will include appetizers like Philly Cheese Steak Rolls and Seared Ahi Tuna Nachos; Bahia Shrimp Salad and Spinach Chicken Salad; entrees like Grilled Filet Medallions, Tavern Ale Sirloin, and Hickory Grilled Double Cut Pork Chop; specialties such as Chicken Gratella and Beef Stroganoff; and signature sandwiches like the Southwest Chipotle Burger and the Prime Rib Panini. Entrees range from $6.99 to $22.99.
